Free Raid Classic
Where
the Mountain Bike World meets!
The mountain bike season in the Portes du Soleil gets a great start on the
last weekend in June with the VTT Mag Free Raid Classic and the "Mondial
du VTT" Mountain Bike Exhibition.
The 76 km long orienteering course in the Portes du Soleil
will be tackled by more than 3000 mountain bikers over varied
and fun terrain in breathtaking scenery criss-crossing the
French-Swiss border.
The "Free Raid Kids Classic"
Now
children can also ride on the legendary "Portes
du Soleil" area.
Young people aged 12 to 16 ride about 3 hours, accompanied by French
MTB Instructors (Moniteurs Cyclistes Français - MCF)
World Cup Downhill - Les Gets
Mt
Chéry permanent downhill course has been a World
Cup run each year since1998. The downhill course is maintained
and secured at all times so you can try out the course at
any time during summer.
Downhill Stats:
- Altitude Start 1820m
- Altitude Finish 1200m
- Vertical Drop 620m
- Length 3800m
Access by Mt Chéry cablecar then Chairlift.
Access time 20 minutes
Avalanche Cup Course
World class downhill course. Wide open sections, technical
sections, ski jumps, hip jumps, drop offs. Fast open course.
Bike wash at the bottom!
The Avalanche Cup is hosted in Morzine every summer and
competitors come down the Pleney run where the finishing
line, a tabletop jump is, in the middle of town. The
downhill course can be done at any time by taking the lift
from Morzine.
