The Portes du Soleil Mountain Bike Tour
The 80km of
trails of the 'Tour des Portes du Soleil' are made up of
85% downhill, 15% flat and 5% uphill tracks which are accessed
by 23 lifts running every day during the summer season. This
memorable trek between Valais and the Vallée
d'Aulps is recognised by the FFC (Fédération
Française de Cyclisme). On the Swiss sections the
route is marked by the Touring Club Suisse. The downhill
courses are classed as red runs (for experienced riders),
but there are many blue routes in the 12 resorts of the Portes
du Soleil where you can practice in safety. Thanks to the
lift system, it is possible to complete the 'Tour des Portes
du Soleil ' in a day and have a fantastic time! If you prefer
to take your time and admire the countryside, spread over
two days the tour offers the chance to enjoy the relaxing
sound of cowbells in alpine pastures while you enjoy a picnic
lunch in the sun or eat at one of the many refuges along
the way. |
